Summer Dinner Bells are Ringing !
Will it be your recipe on the BBQ all around Lake Skootamatta ??
The SDRA, in association with Cloyne Village Foods is holding a Recipe Contest for a meat entrée that will be sold at Cloyne Village Foods meat counter. You may have seen Mazinaw Monsters and Bon Echo Broils in the meat case. Well, we think that the lake residents of Skootamatta have a fine recipe suitable for the Skootamatta name somewhere up their sleeves! Or their chef’s aprons! Maurice will be the leading judge as saleability is a key factor!
Entries must be based on fresh cuts of meat, (beef, veal, pork, chicken, turkey, or lamb), headed for the oven, fry pan, roasting pan, stew pot, Dutch oven, grill or BBQ. NOTE: Recent changes to Ontario regulations make it impractical for small retailers to 'process' meats on-site with marinades, stuffing, etc. Entries, however, may include these steps as part of the recipe.
To enter, E-mail your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and attach recipe to recipecontest@skootamatta.ca
Multiple recipes may be entered so long as
each one is unique and complies with all other terms.
NOTE: Contest has been extended to June 21st, 2008!!
All eligible entries received will be read in a first round of judging based on the written recipes' creativity, practicality, and category-adherence. The top three (3) recipes will be selected and submitted for final judging.
Each recipe chosen shall then be prepared and
judged on taste (40%), creative appeal of prepared dish (20%), ease and practicality
of preparation (20%), and adherence to category (20%).An overarching
consideration is saleability. The #1 ranked recipe will be deemed the grand
prizewinner. Decisions of judges are final and binding in all respects. The
grand prizewinner will be notified by phone, mail and/or e-mail. All judged
entries will be posted on www.skootamatta.ca
GRAND PRIZE: The grand prizewinner will receive a SDRA sweatshirt, complimentary meat order, BBQ Tool set, and notoriety as the individual whose recipe graces Cloyne Village Foods meat counter with the Skootamatta name for posterity.
