It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Catherine Anne Koehler on Friday, August 29th after a short but hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in London, ON on June 13th, 1951. Daughter of Kenneth and Noel, sister to Susan and Ian. Aunt to Adrienne (Rick aka Honey), Quinn (Brenda), Angelle (John), Michael (Michelle), John (Kelly) and Mary (Marcel).
Beloved wife of the late Edward. Beloved Mother to Ben (Tammy), Greg (Carrie), Richard (Lisa), Darrin (Alexis), Chris (Jessica), Brandon, Danielle (Josh). Beloved Granny to Tabitha, Jaxon, Lilly-Anne, Dickson, Finley, Nolan, Luke, Abigail, Mitchell, Marley, Mya, Caleb, Carter and Baby K.
She loved her family more than anything and cherished watching all of her grandchildren grow. Her biggest blessing was watching them frolic and play at the cottage on Skootamatta Lake.
Cathy was known by other monikers like: Mrs.K, Mom, Mama, Gran, Granny and Gaga. She will always be remembered for her selflessness to family, her commitment to being the neighbourhood “mom” when those were in need of one, her unwavering ability to welcome others into her home and her love of being a grandmother.
Our mom had a profound impact on all of her children and countless others from our neighbourhood and hockey/baseball communities. The people she touched from London, Carluke, Amberley Drive, Bond Park and Skootamatta Lake will forever cherish her kind and generous heart.
Our mom was a special woman who will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
A visitation and funeral service followed by a celebration of his life has been set up in her honour and detailed below.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you consider donating to the Princess Margaret Foundation as the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff took such incredible care of our mother until the very end.
