** Township of Addington Highlands & SDRA Partnership ————————————————————
** On Nov 4th the SDRA continued work to deepen its partner relationship with the Addington Highland Township Council. AH has been an excellent partner with the association. We attended the Township Council meeting to give them an update on our Lake Stewardship progress and our challenges. The prime focus was on our battle with EWM and other timely topics. The council was very interested and engaged.
We are pleased to report that the Township raised and passed motions on all 3 of our requests. – to form a working group in collaboration with the SDRA to look at ways to protect our lake – to support our application for an Invasive Species Action Fund Grant to continue our work on EWM – to consider passing a resolution to lobby for the escalation of EWM to a “prohibited” category in Ontario, giving us access to higher levels of funding to support our work.
