** Alto High Speed Train ———————————————————— Dear Members,
We are sharing this update to ensure our community is aware of the Alto High-Speed Rail (HSR) project, a federally led initiative proposing a high-speed rail corridor between Toronto, Ottawa and Québec City. While no final route has been selected, rural areas in Eastern Ontario, including regions near Addington Highlands, are part of the current planning discussion.
SDRA will do its best to share information about the project as things progress.
At this stage, public feedback is being collected by the Alto project team and will inform future route and impact assessments. We wanted to ensure members had the information needed to be part of this public feedback process if you wish to be.
The main project page that is updated on a regular basis can be found here: skootamatta.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0103a6477cbe2d98edb7f70b0&id=2eba31a530&e=43e50e9d95

Why This Matters Early consultation is the stage where local knowledge, environmental concerns, and community priorities have the greatest opportunity to influence outcomes. Participation does not imply support or opposition — it ensures perspectives are part of the public record.
We encourage members to review the materials and engage in whatever way feels appropriate to them. This email is being shared for awareness and access to information only.
If you have questions about this summary, feel free to contact the SDRA at info@skootamatta.ca (mailto:info@skootamatta.ca) Bottom of Form
