** Great Canadian Skootamatta Ice Contest ———————————————————— I have been waiting for some indication of spring at Skootamatta before starting this contest. But March has not given us that at all. Snow and more snow. Even the temperatures have been well below zero for most of the month. There have been skidoos on the lake as recently as two days ago.
However, April is just two days away so spring can’t be far behind and that means Cottage Season is also close. So the contest begins!
Guess the day you think the ice will go out. I will again use the section of Skootamatta between Oborne Point and Bible Island as the contest area. When there is more water there than ice that will be the day. Send your guesses by replying to this email or send them to info@skootamatta.ca. Entries must be in by Friday, April 3 at 11:59 pm.
