Current Water Level

We were asked about water level in the lake so we reached out to Quinte Conservation for clarification. Their reply is below.

“All but one log was installed at Skootamatta dam on April 7th. The last log is scheduled to be installed tomorrow. This is the earliest I believe they have ever been installed. We anticipated a lot less water in the system this year as our gauges showed an early freshet with minimal snowpack in the system. The level is currently reading 3.34m (slightly above our ideal summer level and our target number for beginning log installation after spring freshet). I would not consider this number low compared to other years, but take note that normally the level would still be on the rise and we would be waiting for it to decline to our target number to install the logs which would normally take place in May. I will include some recorded levels from the last few years around the same date for a comparison.

2020/April 22 – 3.39

2019/April 17 – 3.50m

2018/April 11 – 3.14m

2017/April 26 – 3.32m”
